This cake originates in western Austria and Southern Bavaria and its recipe cane raced back around 100 year. The German name literally translated is Deerback and it traditionally is a sweet cake imitating a venison roast spiked with bacon aka almond splinters.
It is made with almond meal, organic chocolate and apricot jam.
